My View On The World And The Way Of Living, Working, And...

There are many things that influence my view on the world and the way of living, working, and socializing. I was raised as a Christian orthodox, but my faith in religion is diminished, don’t get me wrong I do believe in God, but not in church or religion. I respect every religion and cultural beliefs, but to me, religion is made to separate the peoples and their beliefs. I believe in peoples’ morale and what good they doing. I don’t understand how the person can say they are religious because every Sunday they go to church or whichever religious house and pray but as soon as they come home they see the world not as a religious person but full of hate toward other people. He was one of the most important Medieval philosophers. Aquinas followed the Aristotle in thinking that act of God depends on how human action aims and that achieving happiness is understood in the terms of completion, perfection, or well-being. On the other hand, Aquinas thought that â€Å"we can’t ever achieve full or complete happiness in this life†. Aquinas also thought that â€Å"for humans to achieve full happiness is through beatitude or supernatural union with God†. This paper centers on the structure of Starbucks Company. This company is organized in a hierarchical manner where executives at the headquarters oversee regional managers who intern supervise employees (Shultz, 2012). The regional division was thought to be the most effective for two reasons. The first one is that stores could funnel their concerns through geographical headquarters that would link with Starbucks’ main headquarters in Seattle, Washington (Shultz, 2012). The second reason for organizing in this way was that costumers’ needs would be addressed better if they are approached by culturally or territorial differences. The recent downturn in the economy, increasing competition, and other factors prompts the question: should Starbucks change its structure and if so which structure would fit best. The answer: Yes and Product departmentalization structure (Reilly and Back, 2011). Just as important as the structure of the company is the quality its employees and baristas is where the rubber meets the road. Job Description: Besides manager who keep stores running smoothly, baristas are the first impression customers get of the company as a whole (Shultz, 2012). They will never know how much an executive cares about them or how interested a manager is about their satisfaction with a product, in this case a cup of coffee. This way coffee quality may be maintained by those heading the department in charge of the main product of the company. Centralizing versus decentralizing power and decision-making authority to weather difficult times. Centralizing the decision-making authority during hard times may be necessary to affect the change needed to ensure the company stays afloat (Michelli, 2013). However, it would not be wise to continue this operating mode for long periods of time. Each region should continue to maintain a certain degree of autonomy that allows it to modify the way they do business according to geographical requirements (Michelli, 2013). The change of structure from geographically divisions to a more simple or apex mode is warranted when there is a resistance to accept change. What form of organizational configuration best fits Starbucks? As Starbucks continues to grow and change it may come time to change its geographical divisional structure. One that may work, besides the product structure as mentioned earlier in this paper, is the matric model. This model takes in consideration two or three factors simultaneously. For example: divisions could remain separated by regions, but they could be further divided by product. Starbucks is reaching for other markets. They now sell lunch food, music, and other products. To maintain the quality and focus in their main product, coffee, Starbucks should separate the supervision of its product to ensure the focus on the quality of the coffee never diminishes. Conclusion Starbucks CEO developed a company that centers on the idea that coffee is more than just a product, is an experience. The manner which they operate focuses on the needs of the costumer. The company chose a geographical form of organization to ensure they stay abreast of the costumers needs and to funnel information in the most effective way. But a company must continue to change or risk getting overrun by competition. Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds have unveiled gourmet coffee that can be purchased at a lower price. Starbucks continues to stay afloat by providing an atmosphere often preferred by those coffee drinkers looking for a relaxing place to enjoy their beverage. Exterior influences will continue to chip away at Starbucks earnings and one way to counteract these dangers is to change their operational model to continue to stay competitive.

The RH imprint Hogarth has commissioned authors Anne Tyler and Jeanette Winterson as the first to release novels in the forthcoming Hogarth Shakespeare Project. DÃ ­a De Los Muertos: The Day of the Dead The Day of the Dead, or all souls day, is the official Catholic holiday following All Saints Day. The date of the DÃ ­a de los Muertos, is November 2nd. The date of this event is typically attributed to St. Odilio, an abbot of Cluny, France. St. Odilio wished to offer special prayer and singing to the Office of the Dead. The day was created in honor of those who died. During this time, there are three Requiem Masses, said to assist the soul of the deceased from Purgatory to Heaven. The modern view of death is attributed to the Aztec, as they themselves celebrated. They believed that after death, a person would rise though nine levels of, in order to reach their destination, Mictlan, the place of the dead. It was also believed that at birth, the destination of the person would be decided, and would not take into consideration how that person lived their life. It was also believed that the fashion in which one died would determine the region of their destination one would inhabbit. When the person arrived at the destination, one would either linger, awaiting movement to the next destination, or would transform. In the Aztec calender, two months are devoted to honoring the deceased. The ninth month was dedicated to deceased infants. The tenth month was dedicated the deceased adults. During the Spanish Inquisition of 1521, indigenous beliefs were fused with those of the Catholic church. As a celebration adapted by many Catholic nations globally, the central idea remains the same. If a person dies after living a humane life, he or she goes to Purgatory, also known as Hell (commonly known by this term for its slang uses.) After paying for their sins, by being cleansed in the Purgatorial flames, that person goes to the afterlife. If a person did not live a humane life, he or she would spend eternity suffering in the Purgatorial flames. It was believed however that the family of the deceased would assist the person in leaving Purgatory, by praying. While the celebration is not performed in mass in non Hispanic nations, it is officially recognized by the Catholic church, which is responsible for a vast portion of religion globally.
